Nordzucker grieves for Zoltán Tóth

On 9 March 2019, the Head of sugar factory Clauen Zoltán Tóth (51). Nordzucker mourns the loss of an esteeming personality, an excellent technician and an outstanding plant manager who had an exemplary eye on his employees, the plant with its regional roots and its customers.

Zoltán Tóth took over the management of the Clauen plant on 1 December 2009. Born in Hungary, Tóth began his career as a plant engineer in the Hungarian and French sugar industries in 1992. This was followed by positions within the Matra Cukor Group, which was taken over by Nordzucker in 2003, as technical director, chairman of the board and general manager. With the move from Hungary to Germany, Zoltán Tóth was able to put his intercultural leadership skills to good use for the further development of the plant. During his years as plant manager, important investments were made locally to ensure the future viability of the site.

Axel Aumüller, Chief Production Officer: "We are appaled by the untimely death of Zoltán Tóth and are particularly in thoughts with his family during these difficult times. With Zoltán Tóth, Nordzucker loses an exemplary leader and an experienced sugar expert. He has shaped the cooperation and culture in the factory in a special way".

Arend Wittenberg, Head of Production, explains: "In the unfortunately much too short time of our cooperation, I got to know Zoltán Tóth not only as a competent and committed plant manager, but also as an impressively open and cordial person. I wish his family a lot of strength for the time to come".

Nordzucker will gratefully remember Zoltán Tóth.
