Data protection

We are delighted that you are visiting our website, and about your interest in our company and our products. We are very stringent about the protection of your personal data because the protection of your private sphere is a very important aspect for us when processing personal data. Nordzucker processes the personal data collected when our website is visited in accordance with the data protection regulations of the country that is home to the competent authority for data processing. The Nordzucker web pages may contain links to web pages from other providers not covered by this data protection declaration.

Collection and processing of personal data

When you visit our web pages, our web servers store as part of a standard procedure the IP address assigned to you by your internet service provider, as well as the web page from which you visited us, the web pages that you visit on our website, the type of browser that you use, as well as the date and duration of the visit. Personal data is only saved when you give us the details yourself, e.g as part of the registration process, or sending in an application, or answering a survey. The aforementioned data is saved for a maximum period of 52 weeks.

Use and transfer of personal data, and appropriation

Nordzucker uses your personal data for web page technical administration processes, for customer manage-ment, for product surveys, and for marketing, but only to the extent required in each case. Personal data is only transferred to government agencies and authorities pursuant to mandatory national regulations. The actions of our employees are all governed by confidentiality agreements. Pursuant to data protection regulations, the forwarding of personal data is therefore only undertaken for defined purposes as part of the transaction of orders to positions that e.g. operate our servers or provide specific services. These positions are located in Germany and in other EU countries, and are obliged by Nordzucker to treat all personal data with the strictest confidence in line with data protection regulations, on the basis of contractual obligations and data protection instructions.

Application-related data

The answers and information you provide as part of an online application are stored for up to three months along with your name when the application process has been completed. Any ongoing recruitment procedures extend the storage deadline until they are completed.

Applications for advertised vacancies (direct applications)

If you have made an application in response to a specific job vacancy, the relevant company department and the Human Resources department have access to your data.

Applications for non-specific positions (pro-active applications)

If you have sent Nordzucker a pro-active application that does not refer to a a specific job vacancy, Nordzucker will send your data to the Group Human Resources department to check whether there are any job vacancies which match your qualifications.  

Analytics and advertising

Google reCAPTCHA

We use "Google reCAPTCHA" (hereinafter "reCAPTCHA") on our websites. This service is provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google").

reCAPTCHA is used to check whether the data entered on our website (such as on a contact form) has been entered by a human or by an automated program. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, how long the visitor has been on the website, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis will be forwarded to Google.

The reCAPTCHA analyses take place completely in the background. Website visitors are not advised that such an analysis is taking place.

Data processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its site from abusive automated crawling and spam.

Plugins and tools

YouTube

Our website uses plugins from YouTube, which is operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

If you visit one of our pages featuring a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. Here the YouTube server is informed about which of our pages you have visited.

If you're logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube allows you to associate your browsing behavior directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

YouTube is used to help make our website appealing. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO.

This site uses the Google Maps map service via an API. It is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

To use Google Maps, it is necessary to save your IP address. This information is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transfer.

The use of Google Maps is in the interest of making our website appealing and to facilitate the location of places specified by us on the website. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO.

Children

Nordzucker is particularly vigilant about the protection of the private sphere of children. If we become aware that persons are under the age of 13, we do not process or use any information on this person on our website without the prior verifiable authorisation of one of their legal guardians. The legal guardians have the right to request access to the information provided by their child, and have the right to demand that this data is erased.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that this website, like many other websites, use. The Google Analytics cookies used on Nordzucker’s websites automatically track how the site content is used. Cookies are saved on your computer, smart phone or other devices when you visit the websites.

The cookies set on Nordzucker’s websites do not collect personal data about users. Right to information/ Right of revocation

With respect to your personal data, you have the right at any time to information on this data, its origin and recipients, as well as the data processing purposes for which it is used. Information on the stored data is provided by the Data Protection Officer (see below).  The Data Protection Officer is also at your disposal if you have any complaints with respect to any data protection aspects. You also have the right at any time to revoke for future actions the authorisation you issued for the use of your personal data. All you have to do is send an email to the email address specified in the imprint, or to the appointed Data Protection Officer.
